Listen to your body NOT your music when running to Run Better!

This episode is all about connecting to our body when we run. A really simple and often massively neglected tool to use is mindful awareness of your body. We use music or a podcast to 'get us through a run' which I believe is a very damaging habit. Most runners that I see for video analysis because of running related injuries listen to music blasting into their headphones. This means we are listening to music and not our body, which can only be a bad thing in my opinion.

Using the principles of mindfulness to help you listen to your body will help reduce your injury risk, make you a more efficient runner and help you stay motivated as your purpose to run changes. Mindful running is something that I regularly do. I have brought a lot of inspiration from my yoga practice into my running and this has helped me see a deeper meaning to my time spent running, its much more of a ‘spiritual’ or ancestral experience.
