Have you ever wanted to try trail running and not sure where to start?
Have you tried it and not developed enough confidence out on the trails?
Do you love road running and want a new challenge?
Or maybe you’re training for your next big run and want to get out on the hills away from the air polluted streets?!

WHO IS IT FOR?

This workshop is aimed at ALL LEVELS. It will give you the tips, tools and techniques to be able to run on the trails with confidence and enjoyment as well as spending 3 hours outdoors on the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail during the workshop.

You will leave this workshop feeling educated, invigorated and excited to start your trail running journey or progress your current trail running level.

If you are a road runner wanting to add some hills in to your running routine to achieve your goals or you’re just wanting to try something different and get away from the air pollution then this workshop is for you.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, to get the most enjoyment from this workshop being able to run 5km would be a good starting point.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • You will receive a basic running assessment to improve your running efficiency.

  • How to breathe when running to maximise your performance.

  • How to pace yourself so that you avoid burnout.

  • Running technique tips to improve arm movements and foot placements.

  • Uphill running technique and tools to improve efficiency.

  • Downhill running technique and tools to improve efficiency.

  • When to embrace the power walk.

  • How to survey the land as you run.

  • How to relax to conserve energy.

  • Adapt to the changing seasons and weather.

  • Injury prevention, how to recover from your run.

Numbers are strictly limited so that we can work together in a small group, this maximises the coaching time and enhances the learning process. The more time you spend doing the things we are learning the more progress you will make.

ABOUT ASH:

Ash is an Advanced Exercise Specialist with 12 health and fitness qualifications that include Advanced Personal Trainer, Outdoor Environment Trainer, Running Programming Coach, Weight Management Coach, Yoga Teacher, Medical Conditions Trainer as well as six other qualifications.

Ash has worked with many clients programming and delivering their running strength and endurance training. From people wanting to achieve their first 5k or 10k charity run to people wanting to complete half marathons, marathons, Ultra events.

Ash has completed a number of Ultra Challenge events as well as being an avid runner out on the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail.
